The Rehnen KBA (from the German kanten bearbeitungs automat, for
edge processing machine) is a combined sander and profile shaping machine.
This machine is great for furniture manufacturing, staircase
manufacturing, store fixtures, cabinetry, carpentry, and general
woodworking. Below you can learn about some of its features.
Frame:
- Heavy, solid steel construction
- The workpiece is fed by conveyor belt
- Driven by spur wheel gear motor
- Material thicknesses are adjustable by means of a hand wheel
- Extendable roller track in front
Edge sanding:
The edge sanding unit is fitted with a pneumatic oscillation, a
helix pulley, and a sanding shoe.
- Oscillated sanding and finish sanding are done by helix contact
roll and sanding pad.
- The whole sanding unit oscillates by 30 mm up and down.
- Motor capacity is 3 kW.
Profile shaping:
Profile shaping is done on two separate shaping units, which
adjust to the workpiece. Radius, phases, or simple profiles can be
shaped.
- Shaping is done with 12000 RPM.
- Controlled by frequency changer.
- Different profiles are possible.
Profile sanding:
The two profile sanding units move indepenently from each other on
the top and the bottom of the belt, so you can use the same profile or
different profiles for the top and bottom of the workpiece, and have both
done at the same time!
- Service life is approximately 5000 m of profile.
- After 5000 m, the belt must only be equipped with new sandpaper.
